10 Steps to Find Motivation and Achieve Your Goals

It is never too late or never too early to start something. This remains the same when it comes to achieving your goals in life. How to become successful in life is a question with many answers as Henry Ford said, “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success” whereas Thomas Edison believed “our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time”. By this, it could be understood that some believe teamwork and some prioritize hard work to be a factor of success, but what is constant is the motivation behind the success that drives you towards your goal constantly. Aristotle, the famous philosopher from ancient Greek believed “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence is not an act but a habit”. This shows how actions determine your success and the motivation behind your actions leads you to achieve your goals. Check out the 10 tips to find motivation for your goals.

  1. SMART goals- Set up SMART goals, goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound. Always assess these five elements in your goals and begin your journey toward a successful future
  2. Write down your goals- Motivation towards achieving your goals comes with visualizations. Thus, try to write down your goals and at the end of the day visualize your progress. This will help you to stay motivated as you can see yourself grow and become successful in front of your eyes.
  3. Assess your progress- Take part in efficient planning to assess the progress of your goals. This means trying to keep account of the areas that slowing down your progress and eliminate those straightaway.
  4. Break it down- Goals are often long-term thus do not try to achieve them at once rather break it down into many short-term goals. This will keep you away from getting de-motivated and will keep you on the right track of success.
  5. Develop a plan- Get your action plan ready and start working on it right away. The plan of action should be clear and transparent so that you stay motivated and focused on your goals. Your plan of action will also determine that you are on the right track.
  6. Take actions- Do not be shy in taking actions that are required to help you keep on the right path towards achieving goals. Many times people become shy about taking any bold or courageous actions, so do not bother to take such actions if it can take you towards your success efficiently.
  7. Keep perspective- If you are on your way to fulfilling a long-term goal then sometimes staying motivated can be hard and lead to burnout. Avoid burnout, and lead a balanced life, control your obsession but fuel your passion for success.
  8. Identify obstacles- In your journey of success you might face many breakdowns or obstacles, identify and gently remove them. Solve conflicts or complex problems with a cold mind and take measurable actions so that the same things do not happen twice or thrice.  
  9. Be accountable- Try to be accountable for your actions and avoid blaming others for your hardships or problems
  10. Embrace failures- “Failures are the pillars of success”, do not get demotivated by your failures rather try to take lessons from them.
