How To Motivate Yourself When You Are Feeling Low.
Humans are emotional beings! Sometimes we feel on top of the world, and our productivity skyrockets. We feel like we can take the whole world by storm. At other times, even getting out of bed or going for a shower seems impossible.
It is when we are feeling down and low, we have to take a stand and make a choice. We can either lie in our bed and keep feeling miserable for ourselves, or we can get out of bed and make changes to get going again. You must understand that our behaviors can impact our emotional states. How you act on a day-to-day basis sets the foundation for your emotional well-being. When you engage in productive and healthy behavior patterns, you automatically feel motivated and vice-versa. Here I have listed a few essential tips you can use to motivate yourself when you are feeling low.
1. Find Your Inspiration:
There must have been a specific aim, goal, or motive that enchanted you and made you pursue your ambition. That underlying reason for your pursuit is your inspiration. It’s your inspiration that helps you find your gifts, talents, and interests. Your inspiration could come from anything; it could be some book you read, some legendary personality, an insight, a perspective, or just an intuition. Your inspiration motivated you to get started in the first place; it would again fill you with motivation to continue your journey. Read books from the authors you idealize, watch talks from the people who make you realize your worth, and so on. Go out and five the source of your inspiration so that you are again refueled to move ahead in life.
2. Stay Positive
A great achiever is always optimistic. One cannot achieve extraordinary feats and triumphs without a positive attitude. Positive thoughts help concentrate on your inspirations rather than all the background noise (negativity). Hence, a positive attitude leads to positive thoughts, positive thoughts lead to positive actions, and positive actions lead to a positive life. So when you think positively, life seems more beautiful, your pursuit seems worth all the endeavors, and it helps you get out of the pit of despair and embrace hope.
3. Believe In Yourself:
The most crucial step you can take is to believe in yourself. You must have strong faith in your capabilities and skills. Your abilities have no limitations, and your power no horizons. You are the most influential person you can ever know in your life, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. To unlock your true potential and achieve the greatness you desire, you must believe in yourself. This would give you confidence; with that confidence, you can get back on track.
4. Strong Foundational Values:
All the influential people who ever lived had the most substantial foundational values for all ventures of their lives. With a clear vision, you must have exact values to unlock the doors to limitless greatness. Your values are the key. Inspiration fuels your journey to greatness, optimism gives you hope to carry on, belief gives you the strength to carry on, but it’s your values that guide and navigate you towards your destination. Those who lack strong foundational values often find themselves in despair, but you would feel prolific and unstoppable when you have strong foundation values.
